Elk Meadow Dog Park: To Be Closed

Elk Meadow Dog Park: To Be Closed

ELK MEADOW DOG PARK UPDATE
As of TODAY-Tuesday, 4/4/17, a majority of Elk Meadow Park in Evergreen will be CLOSED indefinitely minus the fenced-in area of the park which will remain open as it undergoes management changes. This difficult decision was made to deal with high level of use the park endured, coupled with challenging site constraints including: unsafe parking, exposure to high E. coli levels, and visitor ingress and egress.
The fact is this state is growing; as more and more people move to Colorado we find less and less space for our furry friends to be off leash and able to interact in a spacious environment. We are not only in need of having Elk Meadow remain open and available for our pups but we are also in need of having even more space! I fear as a dog owner and huge supporter of having designated off leash spaces, this growth will only continue to have negative repercussions on our furry friends. What’s to come next Westminster Hills Off-leash Dog Park to close?
